The Evening Light 1880-1930? Part 1 of 2

The sacrifice involved to write, print and publish a book in 1880 was tremendous. First the Author had to hand write the original  manuscript with a feather pen and a vial of ink. The author would have to dip his pen into a vial of ink over and over again just to write a simple sentence. After this tedious process was complete, the Gospel Trumpet worker would spend many hours placing each individual letter in the press to be able to print each page of each book represented below. This process was accomplished by consecrated workers who lived in a communal type environment.

Without any compensation, these "unknown soldiers" gave of their time, personal dreams, and own interests for the cause of Jesus Christ, THE CHURCH OF GOD. This time consuming task was accomplished all the while other brethren were traveling the world on foot, horse back, buggy and then later by train. These brethren accomplished this feat without the assistance of a "regular" paycheck from a church, a board, a trust fund, or a savings account. God supplied their needs as he promised that he would do. According to their writings, the word of God was preached world wide and thousands came out of Babylon, and the bondage of Sin. Because of their obedience to HIS word, God honored them with his Glory.

This is why we must respect the result of the Holy Ghost and His Message, "the Evening Light Message". Think of it, for a minimum of 350 years the world had the Holy Writ and yet could not see the truth of Unity. About 200 years of that time the World only had the knowledge of JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH. In every era, when God restored, revealed or opened light to the world, God had individuals who would sacrifice their own life, desires, ambitions, and dreams  for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the blessed Church of God.

From "Hear the Cry" pg 339 A. L. Byers Evening Light

O’er the ocean’s rolling waters, From an eastern land today, Comes a cry from heathen daughters, “Save us ere we’re lost for aye”; Loud we hear their voices crying, Borne upon each floating breeze, For their souls in sin are dying, While we idly wait at ease.

Who will go, oh, who will go, Bear the message o’er the sea?Oh, who will go?

  1. Home and friends to us seem nearer, As we hear their pleading cry; Native land seems even dearer—Still in tears they moan and sigh; “Will not someone leave his nation? You are saved, but we are lost!” Jesus died for all creation—Who will come at any cost?

  2. “Though your home and friends you cherish, Will you not regard the cries From the lips of those who perish, As they rend the vaulted skies; Many come with sect confusion, Who themselves are in the night, Bringing only more delusion; Who will bring the gospel light?”

  3. Go, my brother, o’er the ocean, Leave behind all earthly dross; Prove to God thy life’s devotion, Lift the banner of His cross; Jesus left His home in glory, Died to set the captives free; Go and tell the wondrous story, Bear the message o’er the sea.

All Because We Do Not Love Them D. O Teasley ; Jesus said, “Go, teach all nations”; They are lost if we delay; Can we face Him at the judgment, If His word we disobey?

The Debt We Owe A.L Byers

When taking His word to the lost ones, It is not a gift we bestow: By working and praying and giving, We pay but the debt that we owe; If millions are lost at the judgment, Their cries shall our conscience upbraid, Because when their souls we could rescue, Our debt unto them was not paid.

Who Will Suffer With the Savior D.S. Warner

Who will offer soul and body On the altar of our God? Leaving self and worldly mammon, Take the path that Jesus trod?

Without any intended disrespect to any present minister, it is of my humble opinion that some should be careful of how they view and publicly criticize these brethren. In five short years, I would submit without reserve or caution that they accomplished more than we have seen in 40 years. While some may not yet understand or even believe all of the Evening Light message, all must surely admit that the Work for God that the message accomplished has yet been reproduced since. Their works still are a witness for them. To have the belief that we are as consecrated as they were is only a deception of the enemy, or perhaps a delusion that some would like to believe.

What was the opinion of Jesus Christ, the Creator of the Universe, of the 6th Seal?

Rev 14:5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

All that had been lost in the Dark and Cloudy Day had been restored by God to his people as at the beginning. The gifts were operating as in the Morning Time, signs and miracles followed. Saints were sold out and consecrated to Jesus Christ as in the Morning Time. The books and songs demonstrate the  burden and the proof that God was with them. Read Willis M. Brown, How I God Faith.  As the ministry and church was in the Morning Time, so they operated in the Evening Time. The brethren of the 6th seal took the word and the spirit to Babylon to free Saints and Sinners who wanted deliverance.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?

the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that

dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else

believe me for the very works' sake.
